Our Ramadan Campaigns

GIM Divider

As we come together to celebrate Ramadan  there are more than 1 billion children globally living in poverty – without access to education, health, housing, nutrition, sanitation or clean water. This Ramadan, they’re hungry for change and the opportunity for a brighter, happier future.

You can be confident that donating through GIM Foundation will directly support some of the most vulnerable children and families.

Ways You Can Help

GIM Divider

This Ramadan, you can help us deliver life-changing essentials like nutritious food, cleanwater, and access to health and education to children in Syria, Gaza, Lebanon, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ghana and Cambodia.

Give a gift of charity this Ramadan and help vulnerable people across the world. From as little as $50 you could make a real difference by supporting our work in responding to emergencies, empowering futures, and protecting the rights of children in need, globally.

$5 will provide one hot iftar to a fasting person in Syria, Gaza, Lebanon, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Ghana or Cambodia.

Group Iftar

$500 will feed a minimum of 100 people for Iftar.  Ingredients used: 4 sheep and 50kg of rice.

Zakat al-Fitr is a compulsory donation that all Muslims are required to pay in Ramadan and before the Eid prayers. All Muslims – regardless of their age – are required to pay Zakat al-Fitr.

The minimum amount due is the equivalent of about one sa’ (approximately 3kg) of rice, wheat, or other staple food for each member of the household – including children and dependants – even if they do not live in the same house.

Your Zakat is more than just a donation, it has a transformative effect – a simple donation
that can uplift children, their families and their communities. Your Zakat could mean shelter and protection for a family fleeing war, nutritious food for children battling hunger, access to health care for a sick mother, education for vulnerable children, or clean water for an entire community. Empower your Zakat and their future today.

Fulfil your religious obligation and give your Fidya to help feed those in need and fight against global hunger. Donate $10 for each fast that is missed, and you will provide one person with two meals or two people with one meal

Fulfil your religious obligation and donate $10 for intentionally missing a fast and help  disadvantaged people this Ramadan.

At every step, and with every donation, we are focused on helping vulnerable children, their families and communities break the cycle of poverty. We work with the teams in our field offices and partners on the ground to help ensure that every cent is going where it is needed most – as they know the needs and the communities best. You can view our Appeals page to see the specific projects and countries we are raising money for right now if you wish to make a more targeted donation, otherwise, your donation will be gratefully received and wisely used where it will make the most impact. We regularly share stories about how your donation is changing lives for good – through our website, social media, and WhatsApp so follow us to watch your donation in action!

As part of our registration with the ACNC, each year we submit annual financial reports to demonstrate how your donation is being spent – you can see these reports here on the ACNC website.

You can stay informed about how your donations are impacting disadvantaged communities through following our social medias

Yes, you can choose the campaign that resonates the most with you and your donations will be allocated to that campaign accordingly

Yes. We’re registered as a member of the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) and fully adhere to their standards.

Any donation you make over $2 is also tax-deductible as we have endorsement by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient.

We are also currently working towards our Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) membership to help strengthen our collective impact against poverty.

If you have intentionally missed a fast, you have to give Kafra to make up for the broken fast. You can either fast continuously for 60 days or donate.

Fidya is for a fast unintentionally missed (you are ill, pregnant, elderly or travelling). It must be paid for each fast missed.

As one of the five pillars of Islam, Zakat should be paid by every adult Muslim who owns wealth equivalent to or above the Nisab threshold. This includes valuables such as jewellery and ornaments as well as cash, investments and real estate.

Once a person reaches the minimum threshold (Nisab) and possesses wealth for a complete lunar year (hawl), Zakat is payable immediately. While many Muslims prefer to pay their Zakat during Ramadan due to increased rewards and blessings, Zakat can be paid at any time of the year as long as the person has been in possession of excess wealth for one lunar year.

Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth – after calculating personal expenses – that a Muslim should have before they become eligible to pay Zakat. This is often referred to as the Nisab threshold. The Nisab threshold is calculated according to the value of gold or silver and is usually determined by religious organisations or institutes. The Nisab is the value of 85 grams of gold or 609 grams of silver.
