Winter Emergency

Children, widows, refugees, and the elderly are already the most vulnerable in times of crises and disaster. Now, they face another struggle – to make it through the cold, harsh winter conditions.

Conflict, political instability, and economic crises have devastated parts of the Middle East – leaving many in turmoil. The worst affected are often children. In Palestine, repeated bouts of violence have meant many families face an uncertain future, with a large portion of the Palestinian population living below the poverty line.

Many don’ t have the means to brave the winter chill.

In places like Yemen, malnutrition among children is commonplace, with most of the population on the brink of famine. Keeping warm in winter only adds to the everyday struggle.

A decade of war in Syria has left thousands of families uprooted from their homes, without shelter or protection, and without life’s essentials, like food, water and education.

Living in makeshift tents and exposed to freezing conditions, winter is all about survival for Syrians. According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, 167 Syrian people, including 77 children, have died due to the cold since 2011.

Our aim is to help Syrian, Yemeni, Lebanon and Palestinian families with winter essentials, such as blankets, heating fuel, warm clothes and medicine.
